Builders Find Goat Living in 3rd Floor Apartment

As builders were entering the third floor apartment in Offenburg, Baden-Württemberg, they encountered a goat.

The goat they told police, was an angry billy goat. It had chased them from the apartment on the third floor.

The police were not sure if the builders were not making up the story, but went to check it out.

When they arrived at the 3rd floor apartment, they found that there was an adult male goat there. It apparently was living there. The goat had been eating curtains that were left behind while work was being done on the apartment.

No one has any idea how the goat got there or who owns it.

They did get a farmer who lives in the area to help them get the goat out of the apartment. He is keeping the goat at his farm while police try to find who the real owner is.

Black Bear Walks Goes into Home

A black bear apparently found the door to a home open and decided to go in.

Once inside, it helped itself to some goodies. Ate a couple of pears and a bunch of grapes. Then being thirsty drank water from the fishbowl. The bear also took a liking to a toy stuffed bear and took it as it left the house.

The New Hampshire resident told how she did get home in time to save her fish.

Mary Beth Parkinson feels the bear found the door open to her kitchen and walked on in.

She feels that when she arrived home, the garage door going up may have frightened the bear causing it to leave the house.

That night, her two boys, 6 and 9 years of age made sure all doors were locked before retiring to their beds.

Baby Black Bear Gets Head Stuck in Jar in Florida

10 days ago, the little black bear cub was rooting through garbage in a residential area, when it’s head got lodged inside a plastic jar.

The locals nicknamed the cub, jarhead.

The little 6 month old baby had gone 10 days without food or water. No one could get near the cub without the mother reacting.

Finally a group of Biologist tranquilized the mother which allowed them to approach her baby. They were then able to remove the plastic jar.

They feel the baby was near death since it had gone so long without nourishment.

The sleeping mother was placed in a trap and the cubs followed her in. Once she woke up, the babies got to eat. Then they were all moved to an area where not so many people live close by.

Amazing Bird sounds

David Attenborough presents the amazing lyre bird, which mimics the calls of other birds – and chainsaws and camera shutters – in this video clip from The Life of Birds. This clever creature is one of the most impressive and funny in nature, with unbelievable sounds to match the beautiful pictures.

Watch Out For Wildlife While Driving

I love watching the deers, wild turkeys, squirrels and all the other animals you see in the fields and along the road as we travel.

What I don’t care for seeing is the carcass of an animal that has been hit by a car. I always say a silent prayer for them,  for the fear that they had to have over come them,  as they viewed the on coming vehicle aimed directly at them. Not knowing how to get clear of the accident about to happen.

If driver would slow down and be aware that the animals are there, that they do not understand the roadways we have built crossing their territories, less animals may be found along the road dieing or already dead.

Daylight saving time ends right after Halloween now. Once the days grow shorter and the hours of travel are engrossed in darkness, the animal activity grows more abundant on our roadways. This is the typical time animals wander to eat and drink in safety from predators.

You cannot see the animals as well in the darkness as you do in the day light.

Here are some tips to help you out as you travel in the darkness.
1.Deer and other animals typically do not travel alone. There is usually two or more . If you see one, be aware that there could be more coming.
2.Watch carefully for animals crossing road or standing along side roadways in the darkness.
3. Most accident happen in areas where there are woods or other animal living areas along the road. Be even more alert when traveling in these areas after dark.
4.Don’t be a litter bug. Trash along roadways attack wild animals to the road and then they could be killed.

Most deer collisions with cars happen between the end of October and December. It is the peak of the time when males are looking for female. More cars traveling and the deer being a little more aggressive, could make it harder to avoid collisions in the dark.

So be aware, that when traveling after dark, there could be wildlife standing along the roadway ready to jump out at you any time.

Swimmers Being Stung by Jelly Fish

When you go to the beach, you don’t expect to be sharing it with jelly fish.

This year. in Spain, there have been hundreds of swimmers complaining of being stung by a jelly fish.

The beaches have large groups of jelly fish swimming along the coast of Costa Blanca.

Typically only a few people get stung by these fish in a days time. There have been about 700 people who have reported being stung by jelly fish  just since Sunday. That’s only in 4 days or so. On Tuesday, there were 380 reports of jelly fish stings.

Since jelly fish aren’t easy to see floating in the water, it’s hard for swimmers to be aware of  them.

It’s possible that the jelly fish are being brought onto the beaches by the hefty ocean streams.

The Man of War is being a painful nuisance on the northern beaches of Cantabria and Basque. 300 ocean goers have been stung in that area by the jelly fish in the past 3 weeks.

The jelly fish has long tentacles they sting with shooting a venom into their victim that brings on acute pain.

Scientist are speculating that the increase in numbers of the jelly fish could be due to global warming. Also because of their natural predators being fished out of the ocean in the Spanish coastal areas. Tuna and swordfish are natural hunters of the jelly fish.
