Who would have thought that the cat, Mr Li of Changchun who lives in the north east area of China, asked a neighbour to borrow would have become best friends with a mouse.
Mr Li was very tired of the mouse which had found it’s way into his house through a busted window. After repeated attempts at trying to capture the mouse, Mr Li decided to ask his nieghbor if he could borrow their cat.
It seems the mouse was a vengeful one. He would strike back at Mr Li by chewing on the household utilities after Mr Li attempted to capture him.
To try and get the cat ready to the hunt, Li asked his neighbor to forego feeding the cat his usual dinner and nothing else to eat until he went on his hunt for the mouse.
Du Huang, the cat, did catch the mouse, but released it after sniffing it. Li witnessed this event and then saw the mouse start assaulting the cat.
“Da Huang neglected his duty of killing the mouse. He just pats the mouse off and after a while they just started playing together. Now they are friends and the cat even cuddles up with the mouse to sleep,” he said.
It is possible that the regular feeding of chicken liver to the cat had left him no taste for a mouse is the only possilble reason Li could come up with for the odd behaviour of the cat.
At least it is possible now that the mouse is the neighbors problem since the cat and mouse sleep together. Unless it is only for cat naps during the day.
