It looks like someone just fried up an egg for breakfast, but it is really a phacellophora camtschatica. A species of jelly fish.
This jelly fish which looks very edible, is typically found in the Mediterranean.
There has now been some of the unusual jelly fish born at the Basel Zoo located in Switzerland.
Larger predatory fish delight in eating the jelly fish even though they have never eaten a fried egg that we know of.
The fried egg jelly fish doesn’t carry the stinging power of other jelly fish. In fact it’s a bit wimpy there.
There diet consist of small fish..
The part of the fish that looks like an egg can be as large as 2 feet and the entire fish length can span 20 feet.
They do have a problem with tiny crustaceans clinging onto their heads for rides and taking food from the external arms and tentacles.
