10 Giant Pandas had been staying in the Shanghai Zoo for the World Expo. Since they were there just on a temporary loan, they have now been moved to their new home at the Shanghai Wildlife Park.
The park officials said that the pandas would need to adjust to their new home. After they were transferred, they were kept out of the public eye for the day. They would be able to be seen once again by the public the next day.
The pandas had a very nice ride. They were transported in air conditioned vehicle and given a police escort. It took about an hour to reach their new home.
They also had no trouble getting the pandas into the cages. All it took was some delicious bamboo leaves, apples and some carrots. Most were willing to go into the cage and eat.
An air conditioned home with temperature set at about 25 degrees Celsius was ready for them as they arrived.
The pandas seem very happy playing and exploring their new home. They will have bamboo to eat and other foods they are use to eating at the zoo.
All ten pandas were born after Sichuan Province had a major earthquake in May of 2008.
