Is it possible? Will they be able to take a dog that has been brutally mistreated and taught only to protect themselves ever be ready to be put up for adoption?

These poor animals have been beaten, hooked to back bumpers of cars and pulled along to build their endurance.

Dogs who are no longer wanted have been held beneath the water till they die, hung, and electrocuted.

They have been so badly abused that it will take a miracle to turn them around to liking humans.

That is what a group is trying to do. The Humane Society of Missouri has set up a warehouse to give these hurting dogs a home. They put cages in it and are prepared to be the first humans that talk lovingly to these dogs.

Having this home set up for the dogs has enabled the authorities to go into dog breeders and dwellings of people with fighting dogs to take the dogs from them. They now know they have a home to give them.

Hopefully with the food and loving care these dogs will recieve in their new home, they will be able to be rehabilitated and found permanent homes.

They will also need extensive medical care. Many are scarred and have wounds that need treated. These dogs have never been treated as if they mattered.

The rescue building whereabouts is being kept a secret.
