In Slaughter, LA, Hannah Marie, a dachshund was almost whisked away by a hawk.
She was fortunate that her owner, Pat Bringol had been keeping an eye on a hawk that had been lurking close by in the neighborhood.
The hawk had even come as close as landing on Pat’s garage.
Hannah, the dachshund, was out in the yard as she was many times in the past two years.
Wednesday, while Hannah was lying out soaking up the sun rays, the hawk dove in and swooped her up.
Pat saw the hawk grab up Hannah and rushed out to her rescue. She reached up and was on her tip toes grabbing at Hannah to get her from the hawk.
She said she was so mad she was shaking as she pulled her dog back away from the hawk.
‘You’re not getting my dog!’ I was so mad I was shaking,” she said.
Pat won. She got Hannah back, a little shaken up from the ordeal but not harmed. Only thing the hawk did was tear the little pink jacket a bit that Hannah was wearing.
For now, Pats daughter purchased a stuffed dog toy to use as a decoy out in the yard till the hawk moves on.
